Sketchbooking: Ode to the Pom Pom Tree

From the moment we moved into our current house Ellen has admired a very tall tree in the garden of one of our neighbours. She considered it her tree and called it her pom pom tree, because of the clusters of needles/leaves that looked like pom poms. Because lightning had struck the tree and it became ill, it had to come down. Ellen was distraught when she heard the news. As a therapy we have drawn the tree. Each of us got to pick their medium and how we would portray the tree. Ellen picked felt tip pens in search of reality. The youngest chose to just draw one pom pom with pencils and I made a black and white drawing.
